북한이탈주민의 국가정체성 특징과 결정요인－서울⋅경기⋅인천지역 거주 북한이탈주민을 대상으로－

이 연구는 북한이탈주민이 남한과 북한에 대해 갖고 있는 다양한 정체성을 국가정체성, 시민적 정체성, 종족적 정체성, 이중 정체성으로 유형화하고, 북한이탈주민이 어떤 정체성을 갖고 있으며, 이러한 정체성에 영향을 미치는 요인들이 무엇인지를 설문자료와 통계분석방법을 사용해 경험적인 분석을 시도했다. 분석결과, 북한이탈주민은 남한에 대해 남한주민 평균점수보다 통계적으로 더 높은 국가정체성을 갖고 있으며, 남한사회에 대한 시민적정체성이 북한에 대한 종족적 정체성보다 높으며, 시민적 정체성과 종족적 정체성이 모두 높은 이중 정체성을 갖고 있는 북한이탈주민도 응답자 중 절반을 차지하는 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 이러한 정체성에 영향을 미치는 공통적 요인으로는 남한에서의 차별경험이며, 차별경험이 많을수록 남한에 대한 국가정체성과 북한에 대한 종족적 정체성이 높아지는 것으로 나타났다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to try empirical analysis using questionnaire and statistical analysis to find out what identity North Korean refugees have, and what affects this identity after classifying the diverse identities of North Korean refugees in South Korea and North Korea with national identity, civic identity, ethnic identity and dual identity. As a result of the analysis, the refugees of North Korea have statistically higher national identity for South Korea than the average score of South Koreans, and the North Korean refugees who have high double identity in both of civic identity and ethnic identity account for half of respondents. And the common factor affecting these identities is their discrimination experience in South Korea. The more discrimination North Korean refugees experience, the stronger ethnic identity they have.
