초록

본 연구는 지역사회에 직접 결합하여 해결책을 찾아가는 리빙랩 활동의 교육적 의의에 대한 분석으로, 경북대학교 서문 인근에서 발생한 이슬람 사원 건축 갈등사례를 다루고 있다. 2021년 가을, 경북대학교 사범대 내 교양강좌를 중심으로 리빙랩이 구성되었고, 다양한 학내 구성원들이 참여하여 무슬림 유학생들의 경험을 공감하고 갈등 해결을 모색하는 활동들을 전개하였다. 리빙랩 참여자들은 유학생 및 가족들과의 교류를 통해 다양성의 경험을 확장하는 한편, 경북대 인근의 주민들과 만나 각기 다른 의견들을청취하고 갈등 해결을 모색하는 일련의 활동들을 계획하고 실천하였다. 이러한 활동에는 심층 인터뷰, ‘희망 캠프’, ‘대현동 산책’, ‘할랄푸드’ 나눔 등이 포함되어 있다. 본 연구는 참여자들의 의사결정을 통해 활동이 전개되는 과정을 기술하고, 참여자들이 경험한내적 변화의 교육적 의의에 대해 분석하고 있다. 이와 같은 분석은 다양성에 내재한 갈등을 이해하고, 편견과 차별을 줄여나가기 위한 대안을 모색하는데 기여할 것이다.

Abstract

This study analyzes educational implications of a Living Lab in which participants engage in their local community and seek solutions for the conflict over Mosque construction at westgate of Kyungpook National University. In fall 2021, a living Lab was organized within a course in Teachers’ college, Kyungpok National University; a variety of students participated in the activities where they emphasized with Muslim international students and sought conflict resolution. The participants planned and executed a series of activities to expand their experiences of diversity through cultural exchange and communication with international students and their families, while meeting with residents near university to seek different thoughts and conflict resolution. These activities include in-depth interviews, “Hope Camp,” “A walk at Daehyeon-dong,” and “Halal Food” sharing. This study describes how participants discussed and made decisions on their activities, and analyzes the educational implications of participant change. Such an analysis will contribute to understanding the conflicts inherent in diversity and finding practical alternatives to reduce prejudice and discrimination.
