초록

Using the China Innovation Talent Index indicators as a benchmark for talent innovation, this study comprehensively analyzed the evolving characteristics of innovative talent in China over the past two years. Using data from the top 50 cities ranked by the China Innovation Talent Index in 2021, we employed multivariate linear regression analysis to investigate the potential impact of each factor on China's economy. The findings reveal a polarization in the distribution of innovative talent in China during this period, with a substantial concentration of such talent in the southeast and coastal regions. Our analysis indicates that talent concentration, patent grants, and technology market transaction volumes exert a favorable influence on the economic growth of these regions. In contrast, other facets of the innovation drive do not have a significant impact. Furthermore, our findings indicate the positive effect of the interaction between talent concentration and innovation on economic growth, whereas local government intervention has a detrimental impact. Consequently, the intricate relationship between talent concentration, innovation drive, and economic growth warrants further investigation.
