초록
Centipedegrass (Eremochloa ophiuroides) extract is rich in flavonoid compounds such as maysin, isoorientin, orientin, luteolin, and their glycosylated derivatives. These compounds exhibit strong UV-A absorptioncapacity, with maximum absorbance (λmax) typically observed in the 340-350 nm range. While their directUV-B absorption is limited due to the absence of λmax within the 280-320 nm range, the extract demonstratessignificant potential in alleviating UV-B-induced cellular damage through its potent antioxidant activity. In thisstudy, we investigate the photoprotective effects of CGE, focusing on its UV-A absorbance properties and reactiveoxygen species (ROS) scavenging ability. The results suggest that the synergistic combination of UV-A filtering andantioxidative protection positions CGE as a promising natural agent for broad-spectrum photoprotection.
