본 연구는 2022년에 개발된 ‘청년의 사회적 고립 측정 척도’(최지현 등, 2022)가 청년의 사회적 고립 수준을 식별하는 도구로써의 가능성을 잠재프로파일 분석을 적용하여 검증하였다. 분석에 사용된 자료는 척도 개발 당시 수집되었으며, 만 19세 이상 34세 이하 청년 631명이다. 이 자료에는 고립청년의 유효한 응답을 확보하기 위해 고립청년 지원사업 참여자가 25.7% 포함되었다. 분석 결과, ‘고립되지 않은 청년(41.0%)’, ‘고립 위험 청년(42.0%)’, ‘고립 청년(17.0%)’ 등 총 3개의 잠재프로파일이 도출되었다. 사회적 고립 척도 합산 점수가 100점 만점에서 ‘고립되지 않은 청년’ 집단은 0~37점, ‘고립 위험 청년’은 34~68점, ‘고립 청년’은 59~95점으로 분류되었다. 이러한 결과는 이 척도가 현재 청년의 사회적 고립 수준을 식별할 수 있는 도구로 활용될 수 있음을 시사한다.

Abstract

This study aimed to examine the potential of the "Social Isolation Scale for Young Adults" developed in 2022 as a tool for measuring social isolation in young adults by applying latent profile analysis. The study participants comprised 631 young adults aged 19–34 years. Data were collected during the scale development process. To ensure valid responses from isolated young adults, the sample included 25.7% of the participants in the Socially Isolated Youth Support Program. The latent profile analysis showed a total of three profiles, which were identified as "non-isolated young adults (41.0%)," "isolation-risk young adults (42.0%)," and "isolated young adults (17.0%)." In the case of "non-isolated young adults," the cumulative social isolation score ranged from 0 to 37 out of 100. The "isolation-risk young adults" group ranged from 34 to 68 points, and "isolated young adults" fell within the range of 59 to 95 points. These results suggest that the scale can be used to identify the level of social isolation in young adults.
