중학생의 성장신념, 독서활동, 시민의식에 대한 종단적 영향 분석

본 연구는 경기교육종단연구(GEPS) 자료를 활용하여 중학교 1학년부터 3학년까지의 성장신념, 독서활동, 시민의식이 어떻게 변화하는지 살펴보고 변인들 간의 종단적 구조를 밝히고자 한다. 이를 위해 SPSS 22.0과 AMOS 22.0 프로그램을 활용하였으며, 다변량 잠재성장모형을 적용하여 시간의 흐름에 따른 영향력을 확인하였다. 연구 결과, 첫째, 경기도 중학생의 성장신념, 독서활동, 시민의식의 기술통계와 상관관계를 분석한 결과, 세 변인 모두 시간이 흐를수록 평균값은 감소하고 있었으며 변인 간 정적 상관을 보였다. 둘째, 경기도 중학생의 성장신념, 독서활동, 시민의식의 무변화 모형과 선형변화 모형을 비교한 결과, 세 변인 모두 선형변화 모형이 자료에 더 적합한 것으로 나타났다. 셋째, 경기도 중학생의 성장신념, 독서활동, 시민의식의 종단적 변화를 살펴본 결과 적합도 지수는 모두 양호한 수준으로 나타났다. 이와 더불어 성장신념과 시민의식의 관계에서 독서활동은 부분매개 효과가 있었다. 이러한 결과는 중학생의 성장신념과 시민의식의 추이를 지속적으로 관리할 필요가 있으며, 이를 위한 다양한 독서활동과 교육적 지원이 필요함을 시사한다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine how growth belief, reading activities, and citizenship of 1st to 3rd graders in middle school change, and to clarify the longitudinal structure between the variables, using data from the Gyeonggi Education Panel Study (GEPS). In order to conduct this, the SPSS 22.0 and AMOS 22.0 programs were used and the multivariate latent growth model was applied to confirm the influence over time. As a result of the study, first, having analyzed the descriptive statistics and correlations of growth beliefs, reading activities, and citizenship of middle school students in Gyeonggi-do, the average value of all three variables decreased as time passed, and there was a positive correlation between the variables. Second, as a result of comparing the non-change model and the linear change model of Gyeonggi-do middle school students' growth beliefs, reading activities, and citizenship, it was discovered that the linear change model for all three variables was more suitable for the data. Third, as a result of examining longitudinal changes in growth beliefs, reading activities, and citizenship of middle school students in Gyeonggi-do, the fitness index was all found to be at a sound level. Furthermore, reading activities had a partial mediating effect in the relationship between growth belief and citizenship. These results imply that it is necessary to continuously manage the trend of middle school students' growth beliefs and citizenship and that diverse reading activities and educational support are required.
