Abstract
Background: This study is grounded in the accelerated accessibility to digital environments and spaces due to the emergence of conversational artificial intelligence like ChatGPT, necessitating the exploration of AI-related applications in the realm of youth activities. Purpose: Therefore, this study aims to discover how artificial intelligence can be integrated into youth guidance and determine whether AI holds potential roles in guiding adolescents. Methodology: The study investigates the theoretical background of AI in youth guidance, and as part of a thematic exploration project, conducted a case study involving 8 youths starting from March 2023. To this end, a digital environment was created to analyze interactions and synergies among peer groups and youth mentors. Findings: Participating youths demonstrated a positive impact on reducing the disparity in virtual experiences and positively influencing their perception of metaverse. They were observed using ChatGPT to structure their thoughts and facilitate a deeper understanding of subjects. The study also witnessed a shift in initial perceptions of metaverse, confirming the enjoyment of learning through play within metaverse environments. Conclusions: The findings underline the necessity for developing educational programs considering youths' interests and needs, appropriate technological use, and ongoing support to enhance their digital competencies. The rapidly changing digital landscape calls for the consideration of diverse youth activities and creating various digital environments, imposing challenges on youth mentors in this dynamic context
