본 연구는 디지털 시대의 문화콘텐츠가 지역의 장소성과 정체성 형성에 미치는 영향을 분석하고, 그 작동 원리를 실천공학적 관점에서 탐구하였다. 영화·드라마 등 시청각 콘텐츠는 공간을 감정과 기억의 장으로 재구성하며, ‘콘텐츠적 장소성’을 형성한다. 이를 설명하기 위해 ‘콘텐츠씬(contents scene)’ 개념을 적용하였으며, 외부 콘텐츠가 지역 이미지를 전유하는 외부적 형성과, 지역 내부의 서사와 감정이 자생적으로 작동하는 내발적 수용형으로 구분하였다. 중국 장가계의 ‘할렐루야 산’과 제주 드라마 〈폭싹 속았수다〉 사례 비교를 통해 콘텐츠 기반 장소경험의 양면성과 지역 정체성의 재구조화를 확인하였다. 나아가 감각의데이터화와 참여 기반 설계를 통한 실천공학적 응용 가능성을 제시함으로써, 문화콘텐츠와 지역정체성의 관계를 감성적 시스템으로 재해석하였다.
Abstract
This study explores how digital cultural contents influence the formation of regional placeness and identity, examining theirmechanisms from a practical engineering perspective. Visual media such as films and dramas reconstruct physical spaces intoemotional and mnemonic places, forming what can be called “contents-based placeness.” To explain this phenomenon, the conceptof the “contents scene” is applied, distinguishing between externally constructed types—where global media reappropriate localimagery—and internally generated types—where local narratives and emotions autonomously shape identity. Through a comparative analysis of China’s Zhangjiajie case, where the film Avatar rebranded the site as “Hallelujah Mountain,” and Korea’s Jeju case,reinterpreted through the drama Behind Your Touch, this study reveals the dual structure of placeness and the reconfiguration oflocal identity through contents. Furthermore, it suggests the applicability of a practical engineering approach that integrates sensorydata, affective design, and participatory systems, thereby reinterpreting the relationship between cultural contents and local identityas an “emotional system of place.”
