부사의 음운론적 감쇄 양상과 특징

A study on the phonological reduction of adverb based on the spontaneous speech corpus

이 연구는 계량화된 구어 자료를 기반으로 부사의 음운 감쇄 특성과 그 기제를 밝히는 데 목적이 있다. 연구 결과, 부사의 음운 감쇄 현상은 출현 빈도나 음절 구조, 성별 변수에 큰 영향을 받지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 부사의 음운 감쇄 현상에 가장 큰 변수로 작용하는 것은 개별 단어였다. 부사의 음운론적 감쇄에 개별 단어가 주요 변수로 작용하는 이유는 문법화 때문이다. {이제}, {그냥}, {지금}처럼 원형적 의미에서 완전히 벗어나 단순 담화표지로 빈번히 쓰이는 부사류는 문법화의 동반 현상 중 하나인 음운 감쇄가 높게 나타난다. 반면 {계속}, {많이}, {정말}과 같이 본유적 의미에서 완전하게 이탈하지 않거나 화용적 의미로 쓰이는 부사는 감쇄가 덜 일어난다.

Abstract

This study aims to investigate the phonological reduction of adverb based on quantified data of spoken language corpus (Seoul Corpus). Although the phonological reduction rate and phonological reduction ratio showed partial deviation, the results from the research revealed that frequency of the usage, phonological complexity and gender have not affected the reduction of the adverbs. However, the phonological reduction of adverb varies markedly according to individual words because it is a accompanying phenomenon of grammaticalization. This led to high reduction rate for {이제}, {그냥}, {지금} that are frequently used as discourse marker since grammaticalization often accompanies a phonlogical reduction for discourse marker whose deviation completely from the prototypical meaning or extended to pragmatic meaning. On the other hand the phonological reduction was low for {계속}, {많이}, {정말} with less frequently used as discourse marker.
