미용고등학교 학생의 외모관리행동과 신체의식에 따른 자아존중감의 관계 및 영향 - 3학년 학생 중심으로 -

미용고등학교 3학년 학생들의 성별에 따른 외모관리행동과 신체의식이 여학생이 남학생보다 높게 나타났으며, 외모관리행 동 중 헤어관리와 화장행동, 의복스타일 추구 등이 높게 나타 났음을 알 수 있었다. 또한, 자아존중감은 여학생이 남학생보다 높았으나 통계적으로는 유의미한 차이를 보이지 않았으므로 미 용고등학교 3학년 학생들은 성별에 따라 자아존중감이 차이가 없음을 알 수 있었다. 미용고등학교 3학년 학생들은 헤어관리와 의복스타일 추구 행동 등 외모관리행동이 높을수록 신체의식이 높으며, 체중관 리 행동이 높을수록 신체의식이 낮음을 알 수 있다. 또한, 미용 고등학교 3학년 학생들의 신체의식에 영향을 미친 순서로는 의 복스타일 추구, 체중관리, 헤어관리 순으로 영향을 미쳤다. 미용고등학교 3학년 학생들은 화장행동과 의복스타일 추구 행동, 외모관리행동이 높을수록 자아존중감이 높으며, 체중관리 행동이 높을수록 자아존중감이 낮음을 알 수 있다. 또한, 미용 고등학교 3학년 학생들의 자아존중감에는 영향을 미친 순서로 는 체중관리, 화장행동, 의복스타일 추구 순으로 영향을 미쳤다. 결론적으로 미용고등학교 3학년 여학생들은 남학생보다 외 모관리행동과 신체의식이 높음을 알 수 있었으며, 자아존중감 은 성별에 차이가 없음을 알 수 있었다. 또한, 미용고등학교 3학 년 학생들은 외모관리행동과 신체의식이 높을수록 자아존중감 이 높았으며, 체중관리 행동이 높을수록 신체의식과 자아존중 감은 낮음을 알 수 있었다. 3학년 미용고등학교 학생들의 자이 존중감에는 외모관리행동과 신체의식이 영향을 미치는 점을 보 아 자아존중감은 외모관리행동과 신체의식이 연관성이 있음을 알 수 있었다.
Abstract
This study was conducted to analyze possible gender-related differences and correlations among appearance management behavior, body consciousness and self-esteem of 12th graders from beauty high schools. Results include: i) girls scored higher than boys in terms of appearance management behavior and body consciousness, ii) no difference was observed between high school girls and boys when looking at self-esteem. In addition, as the level of appearance management behavior and body consciousness rose, self-esteem increased accordingly. Conversely, as weight management behavior increased, body consciousness and self-esteem decreased. These results confirmed that self-esteem was correlated with appearance management behavior and body consciousness among the 12th graders from beauty high schools studies herein.
