초록

Grapes have been used as an important food resource and medicinal plant since the beginning of human civilization. Grapes are used as fresh fruits; dried grapes, which are easy to store, can be used to make alcoholic beverages through the process of fermentation. Scientific research on traditionally used natural raw materials is currently underway, and additional developments are anticipated. Muscat bailey A(MBA) is an improved variety from wild grapes and should be regarded as valuable as both a food ingredient and as a cosmetic ingredient. The purpose of this study was to examine the usefulness of grapes to the human body, the effects on antioxidant effects, cytotoxicity, and physiological factors involved in skin moisturization. Significant results were obtained in the evaluation of the antioxidant effect using the DPPH assay. The results from evaluation of HAS 2 gene expression in relation to the skin moisturizing effect confirmed an increase of approximately % compared to the control group. Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a polysaccharide involved in water retention in the human body, and hyaluronidase is an enzyme involved in decomposition of hyaluronic acid. Therefore, we examined the question of whether hyaluronidase can be inhibited by MBA; the results indicated approximately % greater effectiveness compared to the positive control. Based on these experimental results, recognition of the value of MBA as a raw material for maintaining skin health is anticipated.
