Abstract

Our study investigated the educational satisfaction and career awareness of beauty major students according to their DISC (Dominance, Influence, Steadiness, and Conscientiousness) behavioral type. The research method was to conduct a survey of 307 beauty majors and analyze their data. We observed the DISC behavioral type of S had the highest satisfaction among beauty majors, followed by Type I, Type C, and Type D. The educational satisfaction of beauty majors according to the DISC behavioral types was found to be in the descending order of satisfaction from Type I, Type S, Type C, to Type D. When educational satisfaction was subclassified, the learning satisfaction, class satisfaction, and subject? satisfaction were all found to follow the order of Type I, Type S, Type C, and Type D in a decreasing level of satisfaction. The level of career awareness of beauty majors decreased in the order of Type I, Type C, Type D to Type S. With respect to the effect of educational satisfaction of beauty majors on career awareness, the subcategories of learning satisfaction, subject satisfaction, and class satisfaction were found to have statistically significant positive effects. The higher the learning satisfaction, subject satisfaction, and class satisfaction, the higher the career awareness. We expect our observations to be used as basic data for career and employment counseling of college students to address educational satisfaction, career paths, and jobs in the future through various approaches based on the DISC behavioral types of college students majoring in the field of beauty.
