사업용 차량 고령 운전자의 안전의식에 관한 실증적 연구 - 차종별 비교를 중심으로

본 연구는 사업용 차량 고령 운전자들의 안전의식에 영향을 미치는 요인을 분석하였다. 이를 위하여 충남․북 지역에서 택시, 시내버스, 시외버스, 화물차를 운전하는 노인 389명을 조사대상자로 하였다. 본 연구에서 자료분석을 위하여 PASW Statistics 18.0을 이용하였고, 주요 연구결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 택시, 시내버스, 시외버스, 화물차 운전자들의 각 집단별 안전의식 수준은 6.36 (SD=1.62), 6.82(SD=1.41), 6.95(SD=1.43), 6.92(SD=1.44)로 나타나 시외버스 운전자 집단이 가장 높은 것으로 나타났으며, 택시 운전자 집단이 가장 낮은 것으로 나타났다. 그리고 4개 운전자 집단의 안전의식은 집단별로 유의미한 차이가 나타났다(F=3.118, p<.01). 둘째, 4개 집단에서 안전의식에 공통적으로 영향을미치는 요인은 건강상태, 범칙금 납부 경험 유무, 안전지향동기로 나타났으며, 그 외의 영향 요인과 영향력은 집단별로 크게 다르게 나타났다. 집단별로 다른 요인을 살펴보면, 택시 경우에는 경제상태, 운행지역, 일일 운전시간, 감각추구성향이 추가적으로 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고, 특히, 일일 운전시간, 운행지역이 크게 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 시내버스 경우에는 운행지역, 보행자 등의 안전의식이 추가적으로 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났고, 특히, 운행지역, 안전지향동기가 크게 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 시외버스 경우에는 결혼상태가 추가적으로 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 특히, 건강상태, 범칙금 납부 경험 유무가 크게 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 화물차 운전자 집단은 결혼상태, 경제상태, 일일 운전시간이 추가적으로 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났으며, 특히, 건강상태, 일일 운전시간이 크게 영향을 미치는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 연구결과에 기초하여 사업용 차량 운전자들의 안전의식 향상을 위해 공통적으로 영향을 미치는 요인을 중심으로 개선 방안을 제시하였고, 집단별 특성에 맞추어 실질적인 방안을 추가적으로 제시하였다. 나아가 고령화가 급속히 진행되고 있는 한국 사회에서 노인 운전자들을 위한 올바른 교통정책을 수립하고, 교통문화의 선진화를 이루는데 기초자료를 제공하고자 하였다.
Abstract
In this study the factors affecting safety consciousness of elderly driving commercial vehicles were investigated. A sample of 389 elderly who drive taxi, intra-city bus, intercity bus, and trucks in Chungnam and Chungbuk provinces was surveyed. For the data analysis, PASW Statistics 18.0 was used. The main results of this study are as follows; First, the levels of safety consciousness for each group of drivers of taxis, intra-city buses, intercity buses, and trucks were 6.36(SD=1.62), 6.82(SD=1.41), 6.95(SD=1.43), 6.92(SD=1.44) respectively. The level of drivers of intercity buses was the highest, and that of taxi drivers was the lowest. There were statistically significant differences between the groups of drivers(F=3.118, p<.01). Second, the common factors affecting the safety consciousness of the four groups were physical condition, whether their experience of paying penalty or not, and safety motive. Other influencing factors appeared to be different depending on the groups. In case of elderly drivers of taxis, economic status, service area, daily driving hours and sensation- seeking disposition were additional important factors. For the intra-city bus driving group, service area and safety consciousness of pedestrians additionally affected their safety consciousness. For the intercity bus drivers, marital status affected additionally affected their safety consciousness. For the truck driver group, marital status, economic status and daily driving hours additionally affected their safety consciousness. Based on these results, we propose the measures improving the safety consciousness of the elderly who drive commercial vehicles focusing on the common factors affecting their safety consciousness. Additional practical suggestions were also proposed depending on the driving group characteristics. We also aimed to provide the baseline data on the establishment of proper traffic policy for the elderly drivers of Korean society, of which aging process is fast, and on the improvement of the traffic culture.
