본 연구는 가정폭력 발생의 공간적 분포와 사회생태학적 요인들 간의 관계를 사회해체이론(Social Disorganization Theory)의 관점에서 살펴 보았다. 2017년 서울특별시 산하 경찰관서에 접수된 112 가정폭력 신고기록(N=28,446건)과 지역적 특성에 관한 공공 데이터를 활용하여 가정폭력의 공간적 발생에 영향을 미치는 지역사회 구조적 요인들(인구밀도, 주거 불안정성, 소득수준, 가정 붕괴율, 이질적 이웃 구성)의 영향력을 탐색하였다. 분석 결과, 선형 회귀분석에서는 인구밀도, 낮은 소득수준, 이질적 이웃 구성이 가정폭력을 유의미하게 예측하는 것으로 나타났다. 그러나 공간적 특성을 반영한 공간 회귀분석에서는 인구밀도, 낮은 소득수준은 유의미하게 가정폭력을 예측한 반면 이질적인 이웃 구성은 가정폭력의 발생에 유의미한 영향을 미치지 않는 것으로 나타났다. 연구 결과물의 정책적 함의 및 한계점이 마지막으로 함께 논의되었다.
Abstract
The current study examines the spatial effects of the social ecological factors on the incidence of domestic violence. According to the social disorganization theory, heterogeneous racial composition, poverty, and residential instability in communities cause weak social ties in which eventually leads more domestic violences in neighborhoods. A total of 28,446 cases of domestic dispute records that are collected by the 112 center at Seoul Metropolitan Police Agency is analyzed. The results from spatial correlation and spatial regression analyses confirm that (1) the incidence of domestic violence is unequally distributed across 424 communities in Seoul, (2) the number of domestic violence increase as the rates of population density and poverty raises, (3) the level of heterogeneity in community has no significant effect on the incidence of domestic violence took place in Seoul. These findings imply that the local governments should make the effort to solve the economic inequality problem in communities in order to reduce the domestic violence.
