죽음불안이 노인의 삶의 질에 미치는 영향 : 영적 안녕감의 조절효과와 우울의 매개효과를 중심으로

초록

본 연구는 죽음불안이 노인의 삶의 질에 어떠한 영향이 있는지, 그리고 종교적·실존적 안녕감으로 구성된 영적 안녕감의 조절효과와 우울의 매개효과를 검증하는 것을 목적으로 한다. 이를 위해 본 연구는 경기도 남부에 위치한 노인복지관, 종합사회복지관, 노인회관, 동사무소의 문화센터를 이용하는 65세 이상 노인 250명을 대상으로 설문조사를 하였다. 방법론적으로는 SPSS와 sobel-test를 이용하여 노인의 죽음불안, 삶의 질, 그리고 그들 간의 관계에서 영적 안녕감의 조절효과와 우울의 매개효과를 검증하였다. 연구결과, 첫째, 노인의 죽음불안은 삶의 질에 부적(-)인 영향을 보였다. 둘째, 종교적 영적 안녕감은 죽음불안과 삶의 질 간을 조절한 반면, 실존적 영적 안녕감은 죽음불안과 삶의 질 간을 조절하지 않음을 밝혔다. 셋째, 우울은 죽음불안과 삶의 질 간을 매개하는 것을 검증하였다. 이를 통해 종교적 영적안녕감을 높이거나 우울의 낮춤을 통해 노인의 삶의 질을 높일 수 있는 논의와 제언을 하였다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to verify the moderating effect of spiritual well-being composed of the religious spiritual well-being and the existential spiritual well-being and mediating effect of depression between death anxiety and the elderly’s quality of life. For the purpose, 250 data, which was surveyed from The elderly’s welfare centers, senior citizen community centers, and cultural centers of community service centers located in southern area of Kyunggi-do were surveyed. SPSS and Sobel-test were methodologically performed to examine the significance of moderating effect and mediating effect of depression and spiritual well-being between death anxiety and quality of life. The results were as follows: (1) The death anxiety was negatively influenced on the elderly’s quality of life. (2) The religious spiritual well-being moderated between death anxiety and the quality of life, but the existential spiritual well-being did not moderate between death anxiety and the quality of life. (3) Depression mediated between death anxiety and the quality of life. Based on the results, some implications were discussed and proposed to improve the quality of life through increasing the religious spiritual well-being or reducing depression.
