The use of cohesive devices in argumentative writings by Korean EFL Learners: A corpus-based comparative research

본 연구는 코퍼스 기반으로 한국 대학생들의 영어논술 작성 시 응집적 장치 사용에 대한 연구이다. 한국 내 영어학습자들의 응집적 장치 분석을 위해, 연세 코퍼스 중 40개의 에세이가 선택되었으며, 이는 B1+와 C1로 채점된 에세이들 각 20개씩으로 구성되었다. 한국 대학 신입생들의 영어 논술 속 응집적 장치 사용, 각 점수 그룹별 응집적 장치 사용의 차이 및 유사점, 그리고 쓰기점수와 사용된 응집적 장치의 수의 관계를 심층적으로 조사하였다. 연구 결과에 따르면, 응집적 장치들 중 어휘 항목이 한국 대학생들에 의해 가장 빈번하게 사용 되었다. 또한, 각각의 점수 그룹은 영어 에세이에서 정관사, 유의어, 연어의 사용에 차이를 보였다. 그러나, 응집적 장치의 수는 쓰기 점수와 관계가 없는 것으로 나타났다.
