Abstract

In the faith of Avalokiteshvara, we can find the great compassionate nature of the Buddha. It is manifested that the world is to see with sound as ordained novices and laymen such as householders, kings. With the help of Buddha eye, Avalokiteshvara knows directly, as they are, the individual nature, aspiration, potentiality by thousand armed and thousand eyed, the eleven faced and so forth in the samadhi with dharma effloresce. The faith of Avalokiteshvara has the meaning of the six syllable Mantra, Om-ma-ni-pad-me-hum. The syllable of Om represents the Form Body of a Buddha, and the last syllable Hum represents his Truth Body, Mani means wish fulfilling gem, symbolizing the pure Wisdom. The vowel E ending the word Padma has been described as a call to someone. The Avalokiteshvara shows us the dual path of wisdom and method by the jewel and lotus. Mahayana movement in Buddhism is based on the practice to be beneficient both myself and others, which is the essence of the practice of Bodhisattva. We can find the social publicity in faith of Avalokiteshvara to awaken bodhicitta to serve to self-profit and other-profit equally.
