Abstract
This presentation is a Buddhist-scholar's critical reflection on how the study of Buddhism has been formulated and performed in the past. The study of Buddhism as an academic field was created by the western scholarly format and has been pursued by way of the linguisitic-historical methods and Christian presuppositions and mostly western orientations. It reveals the discrepancies and inconcistencies in various aspects of where Buddhisms are practicing and studying at the sites. Buddhisms are now claimed as a way of life as well as a field of scholarly field even among Buddhist scholars in the West as much as in the East. The Study of Buddhism of today shows to regenerating new academic fields and tends to expanding its applications to various scholarly subjects.
