초록

본 연구의 목적은 한국의 웨슬리 신학전통을 직접 혹은 간접적으로 이어 가는 감리교회, 성결교회, 오순절교회의 성령론을 비교하고, 이들을 통합적으로 이해할 수 있는 가능성을 찾고자 하는 것이다. 감리교의 성령론은 크게 두 가지 방향으로 고찰된다. 하나는 전통적으로 웨슬리를 연구하는 영역이요, 다른 하나는 한국의 민중과 문화의 맥락에서 토착적신학을 추구하는 영역이다. 웨슬리 연구영역은 전통적인 성령이해를 기본으로 하고 있으며, 동방교회와 서방교회의 전통에 영향 받은 웨슬리를 규명하고 있다. 민중신학적 성령론과 문화신학적 성령론이 제출되어 있다. 성결교회 성령론과 오순절교회 성령론은 웨슬리신학을 배경으로 성령론을 전개하고 있으나, 핵심적으로는 성령세례에 집중하고 있다. 본 논문은 이들 각자가 전개하는 성령론을 추적하되, 특별히 성결교회는 이성봉목사를 중심으로 오순절교회는 조용기를 중심으로 그들의 성령론을 분석한다. 결론적으로 본 연구는 한국의 웨슬리 전통교단들의 성령론은 하나의 ‘웨슬리안성결-오순절성령론’으로 이해할 수 있다고 다음과 같은 공통근거를 제시한다. 첫째, 성화는 칭의와 구분되는 성령의“ 두번째 축복”의 사건이다. 둘째, 성령의 증거와 성령의 확증을 통해 하나님의 자녀 됨에 대한 믿음, 죄 용서에 대한 믿음, 등에 대한 내적 확신을 물을 수 있다. 셋째, 성화는 우리 안에서 이루어 지는 성령의 역사로서 신인협력적이다. 넷째, 성화에는 성령에 의한 순간적 성화와 점진적 성화가 존재한다. 다섯째, 성령은 능력을 부여한다. 그리고 성령세례는 ‘성결-능력’의 관점에서 양자를 배타적으로 이해하지 않을 때 서로 간의 다른 영적 체험들을 인정할 수 있게 된다. 즉, 감리교는 성령세례를 성결을 위한 은총으로 이해하고, 오순절교회는 능력을 위한 것으로서 그리고 성결교회는 성결 곧 능력이라는 관점에 성령세례를 이해함으로써 명실공히 ‘웨슬리안성결-오순절성령론’ 이라는 통합적 성령론을 말할 수 있게 된다.

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to compare the theories of the Methodist, Holiness, and Pentecostal churches that directly or indirectly follow the Wesleyan theological tradition of Korea, and to find the possibility of understanding them in an integrated way. Methodist Pneumatology is considered in two directions. One is the domain of traditionally studying Wesley, and the other is the pursuit of indigenous theology in the context of Korean people and culture. The Wesleyan research area is based on the traditional understanding of the Holy Spirit and identifies Wesley as influenced by Eastern and Western traditions. Minjung Pneumatology and Cultural Pneumatology are presented. The Holiness Church and the Pentecostal Church are based on Wesleyan theology, but focus on the baptism of the Holy Spirit. This paper traces the theory of the Holy Spirit developed by each of them, in particular, the Holiness Church focuses on Pastor Sung-Bong Lee, and the Pentecostal Church analyzes their Pneumatology centering on Yonggi Cho. In conclusion, this study provides the following common grounds that Pneumatology of Wesleyan traditional denomina￾tions can be understood as a Wesleyan holiness-Pentecostalism. First, sanctification is the event of the “second blessing” of the Holy Spirit, distinct from justification. Second, the testimony of the Holy Spirit and the assurance of the Holy Spirit can ask internal convictions about faith in God's children, faith in forgiveness of sins, and so on. Third, sanctification is a cooperative work of the Holy Spirit within us. Fourth, sanctification includes instant and gradual sanctification by the Holy Spirit. Fifth, the Holy Spirit empowers. And the baptism of the Holy Spirit can recognize different spiritual experiences when we do not have an exclusive understanding of both in terms of holiness-power. In other words, Methodists understand the baptism of Holy Spirit as grace for holiness, the Pentecostal Church for power, and the Holiness Church for the sake of holiness as power.
