현대인에게 디지털 문화는 단순히 가상의 현실(virtual reality)이 아니라 엄연히 실재하는 현실이다. 디지털 문화는 인간의 상상 속에 혹은생각 속에 있는 ‘허구의’ 세계가 아니라, 인간이 몸으로 살아가는 삶의세계 전반을 관통하고 구조화하고 변화시키는 ‘실제의’ 세계다. 이 논문은 오늘날의 이러한 현실을 진지하게 고찰하면서 그리스도교 신학적 관점에서 디지털 세계의 출현 및 확산의 문제를 어떻게 바라보고 또어떻게 대처해야 하는지에 대해 성찰한다. 우선 디지털 문화에 대한 사회학적 이해를 간략하게 소개한 다음, 그리스도교 고유의 창조신학적관점에서 디지털 문화의 신학적 위상과 의의를 고찰한다. 마지막으로디지털 문화를 사는 현대인들을 위해 디지털 리터러시 함양과 향유의필요성과 방향에 대해 그리스도교 신학적 관점에서 제안한다.
Abstract
Today the digital culture is not just a ‘virtual reality,’ but a reality in its genuine sense. The digital culture is not a ‘fictional’ world which exists only in the human imagination or ideas, but a ‘real’ world that penetrates, structures, and changes the entire world of human life. In this paper, taking seriously this noteworthy phenomenon of the digital culture, I seek to reflect from a Christian theological perspective on how to view and deal with the problems derived from the emergence and spread of the digital world. First, I briefly introduce a sociological understanding of the digital culture, and then examine the theological significance of the digital culture from the perspective of a Christian theology of creation. Finally, I suggest a few proposals as regards the need and direction for fostering and enjoying digital literacy from a Christian theological perspective.
