칼빈에게서 죄인으로서의 인간의 문제는 방대하고 복잡한 내용을가지고 있다. 그 속에는 인간의 타락과 원죄, 죽음, 죄의 현상과 원인, 악한 의지, 욕망, 교만, 자기애, 소외, 불안, 단절과 고독, 고통과 절망… 등 수많은 문제들이 반복해서, 서로 교대로 또는 중복되면서 나타났다사라지곤 한다. 또한 그 문제들은 각기 나름대로의 내용을 가지면서 칼빈의 인간학 전체를 풍부하고 값 있게(가치 있게) 만들고 있다. 그렇게 방대하고 복잡한 주제를 하나의 논문 안에서 모두 다루는 것은 거의 불가능하다. 왜냐하면 그럴 때는 많은 것들이 생략되고, 소홀히여겨지거나 간과될 수밖에 없기 때문이다. 따라서 나는 그런 죄인으로서의 인간의 문제들을 다음의 세 개의 논문으로 구분하여 다룬다. 첫째는,“인간의 타락과 죄”, 둘째는,“인간의 욕망과 교만 그리고 자기애”, 셋째는,“죄인의 실존과 고통”이 그것이다. 지금의 이 연구는 그 첫 번째 것으로서, 현재의 죄인들의 기원이 되는 최초의 타락과 죄의 문제를중심으로 칼빈에 따른 죄인으로서의 인간의 문제들을 살펴본다.
Abstract
Calvin regarded the cause of the sin as infidelity or discredit. It means that he doesn’t think the sin as certain behave or appearance of man but the problem of the inner state of the man that is the heart or personality. The sin according to Calvin was not the moral problem, but the relational problem between the man and God. It is why Calvin believes that the sin is just the separation or the estrange. He doesn’t doubt that the result of the sin is the death in compliance with the Bible. But his understanding of the death is existential rather than real. Namely the death resulted from the first men’s sin begins not at the real moment of the future, but it is realized already ‘here and now(hic et nunc)’. In this perspective, the death means every kinds of disasters, sufferings and tragedies of the mankind estranged from God. That the men overcome the death is not affair of some day but of ‘here and now’. That is, my death and life diverge according to that I believe or not the Word of God, Jesus-Christ that approach me here and now. Therefore ‘here and now’is the decisive time, eschatological kairos when is realized the alternative decision that I receive or not the Word of God. So Calvin’s theory of sin has the existential character.
