그리움과 에로스의 구원 ― 다석 류영모와 플로티노스의 신비적 합일에 관한 신학적 고찰

Abstract

This paper explores the potential of Korean theology to offer a vision of communion in which God, the world, and human beings are united in the totality of life in order to overcome the growing problems of separation and opposition in contemporary society. To this end, this paper makes a comparative study of the mystical unity that is common to the Korean Christian thinker Daseok Ryu Young-mo(1890~1981) and the third-century Hellenistic thinker Plotinus(205~270). The object of comparative study in this paper is the One(or 一者), the object of mystical unity, and the drive of mystical unity toward the One, which is Daseok’s longing and Plotinus' eros(Ἔρως). The similarities and differences between the two thinkers centered on mystical unity are presented in this paper as a Korean theology of performative-aesthetic salvation. In this paper, performative-aesthetic salvation is presented as transcendent immanent salvation, in which Christ is born in the human soul through the practice of self-emptying, or participation in suffering, and Christ is realized in this world, and ascending aesthetic salvation, which seeks ontological transformation through the practice of virtue guided by Eros. Thus, in order to answer the question of how I and the world can become one, and how my suffering and the suffering of others can become one, this paper proposes a performative-aesthetic power of self-transcendence that sees me and the world as one in the whole of life, and in which my suffering and the suffering of others become one.
