에큐메니칼 교회론의 주요 주제와 종합 ― WCC 비전문서를 중심으로

본 연구는 세계교회협의회 신앙과직제위원회가 발표한 「교회: 공동의비전을 향하여」 문서를 중심으로 에큐메니칼 교회론의 역사적 발전과정을탐구하고, 시대적으로교회가진지하게강조한교회론의주제들을밝히는것을목적으로한다. 이문서는신앙과직제위원회가세계교회의의견을수렴하기위하여작성한문서이다. 2012년말레이시아페낭에서열린 신앙과직제위원회에서 작성되었고, 2013년 세계교회협의회 10차부산총회의프로그램문서로공식적으로제출되었다. 문서에대한세계교회의 의견을 담은 보고서가 올해 두 권으로 출판되었다. 세계교회는문서의내용과형식, 표현등에대한의견을전달하였고, 신앙과직제위원회는 앞으로 이 의견들을 기초로 보다 발전된 에큐메니칼 교회론을만들어갈것으로보인다. 한국교회는이문서에대하여공식적으로응답하지않았기때문에이문서를한국교회상황에서논의하고신학적으로응답하는것이필요하다고할수있다. 본 논문은 이 문서의 에큐메니칼 신학사적 의의와 함께 교회적 실천의관점에서 읽고 있다. 단순히 에큐메니칼 운동이 추구하는 교회일치와연대의 관점에서 읽는 것이 아니라 이전에 작성된 에큐메니칼 교회론문서들과의 연결성 혹은 지속성의 차원에서 읽고자 한다. 이전의 문서들과함께읽을때비전문서의문자적의미와함께역사적의미와확장성이 분명하게 보일 것이라 생각한다. 또한 에큐메니칼 교회론의 역사적발전과정을고찰함으로현대교회가직면한교회론적정체성의물음에답하는계기가될것이다. 그러한의미에서본연구는지난백년간의에큐메니칼 운동과 신학 속에서 발표된 주요 문서들을 중심으로 주요주제들을 살피고 현대 세계 안에서 교회의 자리와 실천적 방향을 종합하고있다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to explore the historical development of ecumenical ecclesiology, focusing on the document “The Church: Towards a Common Vision” published by the World Council of Churches and the Faith and Order, and to reveal the themes of ecclesiology that the church seriously emphasized in the times. The document is a document prepared by the Faith and Order to gather opinions of the churches in the world. It was written by the Faith and Order held in Penang, Malaysia in 2012 and officially submitted as a program document for the 10th Busan General Assembly of the World Council of Churches in 2013. Various opinions of the world churches on the document was published in two volumes this year. The churches have delivered opinions on the contents, formats, and expressions of the documents, and the Faith and Order will make more advanced ecumenical ecclesiology based on these opinions. Since the Korean church did not officially respond to this document, it is necessary to discuss this document in the Korean church situation and respond theologically. This study is reading from the perspective of the ecumenical theological significance of this document and the ecclesiastical practice. I would like to read it in terms of connectivity or continuity with the previous documents of ecclesiology, rather than simply reading it from the viewpoint of church unity and solidarity pursued by the ecumenical movement. I think that the historical meaning and scalability will be clearly seen with the literal meaning of this document when reading with the previous documents. Also, by examining the historical development process of ecumenical ecclesiology it will be an opportunity to answer the question of the ecumenical identity faced by the modern church. In this sense, this study examines the major themes of the past hundred years of ecumenical movement and major documents in ecumenical theology, and synthesizes the position and practical direction of the church in the modern world.
