문화예술교육의 창의·인성교육 관점에서 본 초등학교 무용교수학습과정 탐색

본 연구의 목적은 문화예술교육으로서 초등학교 무용교수학습과정의 교육목표, 내용, 방법을 검토하고 창의․인성 요소를 탐색하여 미래인재의 핵심역량으로서 창의․인성의 함양 방안을 모색하는 것이다. 자료 수집은 한국문화예술교육진흥원의 초등학교 무용교수-학습자료와 무용 분야 예술강사 4명과의 심층면담을 통해이루어졌으며, 자료 분석은 사례중심분석(Miles & Huberman, 1994)과 귀납적 범주분석(Patton, 2002)을 사용하였다. 연구결과 첫째, 문화예술교육으로서 초등학교 무용교수학습과정의 교육목표는 무용뿐만 아니라 타 장르의 예술, 영역, 생활과 관련된 경험으로서 무용을 이해하고 체험하도록 하는 것이었다. 둘째, 교육내용 및 방법은 영역별(예술만나기, 춤 이야기, 즐거운 춤, 우리 민속춤, 외국 민속춤), 수준별(기본, 응용, 심화)로 제시되었다. 교육내용은 체험, 이해, 감상, 창작, 발표로 구성되었으며, 교육방법은 스토리텔링, 즉흥, 놀이, 독서, 시청각자료 감상을 활용하고 있었다. 문화예술교육으로서 초등학교 무용교수학습과정에서는 창의․인성 요소 중 창의성의 인지적 요소에 집중되고, 상대적으로 인성 요소는 교육목표, 내용, 방법의 적용이 간과되어 있어 이에 대한 보완과 후속 연구가 요구된다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to examine the goals, curriculum and methodology of dance lessons in elementary schools when provided as part of an overarching culture and art education program for elementary schools and further, to provide insights into cultivating creativity and personal growth in future generations. The Korean Culture and Arts Foundation provided the dance curriculum used for analysis, as well as the four teachers interviewed for qualitative data. The data was then analyzed using the case analysis method (Miles& Huberman, 1994) and inductive content analysis. The first finding was that the goal of the Culture and Art Education initiative in elementary schools was not simply to provide dance lessons but rather to help students understand and experience dance through a variety of different aspects including, art, and their everyday lives. Secondly, the curriculum was determined by dance types (intro to art, dance stories, happy dances, traditional Korean folk dance, traditional foreign folk dance) and by level (beginner, proficient, expert). Content of the classes consist of experiencing, understanding, appreciating, creating, and presenting, as well as also storytelling, improvisation, game, reading, and the appreciation of audio-visual materials. In general, the focus of the program was on the cognitive aspects of creativity while less attention was paid to the personal growth development aspect of the program, suggesting that further research may be needed for this part of the program.
