본 연구의 목적은 음악영재를 지도하는 교사의 음악영재 부모교육에 대한 인식과 요구를 파악하여 음악영재 부모교육의 목적과 내용을 탐색하는 것이다. 이를 위해 서울과 지방 소재 음악영재교육원 5개 기관에서 음악영재교육을 담당하는 교사 108명을 대상으로 음악영재 부모교육의 필요성, 목적, 내용, 방법 등에 대한 요구를 살펴보았다. 그 결과, 교사들은 음악영재 부모교육의 필요성을 인식하고 있었고, 음악영재 부모교육의 목적으로 ‘음악영재인 자녀에 대한 이해’와 ‘음악영재성에 대한 이해’가 가장 적합하다고 답하였다. 교사들은 생활지도와 인성교육, 음악영재의 특성을 음악영재 부모교육의 주제로 가장 중요하다고 응답하였다. 이와 같은 결과는 교사들이 부모를 음악영재교육에서의 조력자와 지원자로 인식하고 있으며, 부모가 음악영재성에 대한 이해를 토대로 영재 개개인의 인성 함양과 창의성 계발, 학습에서의 어려움과 내적영역에서의 갈등을 해소할 수 있는 상담자로서의 역할을 수행해주기를 기대하고 있음을 보여준다. 그러나 교사들은 부모들이 음악영재인 자녀에 대한 이해와 음악영재교육에 대한 이해를 위해 정보와 교류를 요청하고 있다는 사실을 충분히 이해하지 못하고 있어 부모와 교사 간의 협력과 상호이해, 소통이 필요함을 보여주고 있다.
Abstract
This study aims to explore the goal and content of education for parents of the musically gifted based upon teachers' needs for the parents education. This study is to analyze 108 teachers' needs for the significance, goal, subject, and operation of education for parents of the musically gifted. As a result, teachers acknowledge the important role of parent in music gifted education and require the parent education. The understanding of the uniqueness of music gifted and music gifted education is seen as the most appropriate for the goal of education for parents of the musically gifted; the character and guidance, creativity education, consulting, and music giftedness as the main subject of parent education. This study shows that most teachers expect parents to play a role in supporting and consulting their children's difficulty in learning and studying and participating in the character education at home.
