초록
시편 45편은 왕이 중심 역할을 하는 제왕 시편에 속한다. 이 시편은 또한 왕의 결혼식을 위해 작성된 결혼식 노래이다. 이 시에서 왕은 자신의 업적, 곧 적들에 대한 승전과 나라 안에서의 정의의 실현에 대해 칭송된다. 그러나 6절 d[,w" ~l'A[ ~yhil{a/ ^a]s.Ki에서 시인은 ~yhil{a/을 찬양한다.
Abstract
Psalm 45 belongs to a group of some royal psalms in which the king is the central figure. It is also a wedding-song that was composed for the royal marriage of a particular monarch. While the whole poem provides a fairly detailed description of the wedding ceremony, the king is excelled in performing two essential functions of royalty - victory over enemies and the maintenance of justice in the nation. However, in vs. 6a we read the phrase d[,w" ~l'A[ ~yhil{a/ ^a]s.Ki. The question is this: Who does ~yhil{a/ designate? And how does d[,w" ~l'A[ ~yhil{a/ ^a]s.Ki have to be understood? On these questions the concern of this article stands. The phrase is one of a notorious crux in the Old Testament. There exist insuperable grammatical or conceptual difficulties in the text as it stands. Various answers and solutions have been proposed. The purpose of this article is to pursuit and examine the main ways of understanding the phrase and to suggest its own solution. The traditional and most probable interpretation is to read the phrase as it stands, regarding ~yhil{a/ as a vocative of God. Many modern English versions take this position. The rendering is “Your throne, O God, is for ever and ever.” However, believing that a king has to be praised in this line, some scholars carry out various conjectural emendations. For example, some assume that ~yhil{a/ is a substitute for hw"hy>, itself a corruption of hy<h.yI, “shall be.” Then they render “Thy throne is eternal.” Other scholars suggest various grammatical relations among the words in the phrase, sometimes adding a verb describing God’s action. This article understands the phrase as it stands. And it concludes that ~yhil{a/ is a vocative and designates the king of the Davidic dynasty who is addressed in ^a]s.Ki. This understanding well fits with grammar, the context the passage, and general theological considerations in the Old Testament. From this the rendering of this article is “Your throne, O God-like, is for ever and ever.” In fact, kings and judges are regarded as representative of God or Yahweh in the Old Testament. Israelites regarded the king as God's viceroy on earth and they considered the king as one who exhibited divine qualities. Therefor, it is not altogether surprising that a Davidic king should exceptionally be given a title, ~yhil{a/.
