셀프 연구 방법(Self-study)을 이용한 초등교원 인성교육 연수자료 개발

인성교육의 중요성이 중대해지고 있지만, 정작 인성교육을 행해야하는 교원의 인성교육능력 향상을 위한 국내 연수는 매우 부족하다. 본 연구에서는 초등학생의 인성교육을 담당하고 있는 초등교원들이 셀프 연구(Self-study)라는 자기 성찰적 연구방법을 사용하여자신의 학급과 상황에 맞는 인성교육을 행할 수 있도록 인성교육 연수자료를 개발하였다. 연수자료 개발을 위하여 셀프 연구 관련 문헌을 참고하였으며, 실제로 6명의 초등교사가행한 셀프 연구 자료를 바탕으로 하였다. 연수자료 개발 시 셀프 연구라는 방법을 현장교사들이 쉽게 이해하고 사용해볼 수 있도록 쉬운 설명과 예시를 덧붙였다. 연수 교재는 3차시로 구성되어 있다. 1차시에서 교사들은 자신의 연구문제를 설정하고 연구자료를 수집하기 시작한다. 2차시에서 연구자료를 분석하고 연구문제를 해결할 방법을 찾는다. 3차시에서 연구결과를 보고하며 새로운 대안을 찾는다. 각 차시에는 실습을 위한 질문과 실천과제가 포함되어있다. 실습을 위한 질문들은 많은 교사들이 인성교육을 하면서 겪게 되는어려움을 참고하였고, 인성교육을 위해 꼭 알고 있어야하는 지식과 이론들을 적절히 첨가하였다. 본 연수자료는 교사 자신의 교육실천에 대한 반성을 바탕으로, 학급의 인성교육을 위해 가장 근본적으로 해결되어야하는 문제를 파악하여, 그 문제를 해결해 볼 수 있도록 도와줄 것이다.
Abstract
Resources for school teachers to learn about character education are not sufficient in South Korea, although character education is getting more attention these days. Therefore, the researcher developed a teacher-training workbook to help elementary school teachers deeply understand their own characters and also their students’ characters, using a self-study research method. This training workbook is based on the results of six elementary school teachers’ self-studies and previous studies on self-study for schoolteachers. The main point of this study is to develop a learning resource for elementary school teachers to understand the self-study research method easily and to practice self-study in their contexts, with the aim of solving problems relating to character education. This workbook is organized in three phases. In the first, teachers will set their own self-study research question, make it clear, and start to collect data. In the second phase, they will analyze the data they collected and find solutions to solve their research question. At last, they will report their research results. Teachers can start to do new research based on the research results or find alternative solutions to solve their unsolved problems. The experience of performing self-study research will improve teachers’ problem-solving abilities and their ability to reflect on their practice, which are both related to successful character education.
