초등수학에서 문제만들기 활동 지도의 개선 방안

본 연구의 목적은 현행 초등수학 교과용 도서에 제시되어 있는 문제만들기 활동 내용과 문제만들기 활동 지도에 대한 교사의 인식을 분석하여 초등수학에서 문제만들기 활동 지도의 개선 방안에 시사점을 탐색하는 데 있다. 이를 위해서 1학년부터 6학년까지의 수학 교과서 12책과 수학 익힘책 12책에서 추출된 문제만들기 활동 관련 내용과 설문조사를 통해 문제만들기 활동 지도에 대한 초등 교사의 인식을 분석한 후, 문제만들기 활동 지도의 개선 방안으로 문제구성하기 활동을 고안하여 서울 K초등학교 4학년 학생 30명에게 6차시에 걸쳐 적용하였다. 그 결과 초등 수학 교과용 도서에서의 문제만들기 활동은 네 가지 유형으로 구분할 수 있었으나 그 유형에 따라 특징적으로 이루어지기보다는 결국 예시 문제를 모방하여 단순 변형시키는 활동에 지나지 않는 것으로 드러났다. 또한 교사에게는 문제만들기 활동에 대한 올바른 인식과 문제만들기의 본래 의도에 맞는 실제적인 자료나 지도 방법이 필요함이 드러났다. 그리고 개선한 문제만들기 활동 지도 방안을 학생에게 적용했을 때, 학생이 문제구성하기 활동 중에 관련된 수학적 요소를 생각해내고 그를 이용하여 수학적 관계를 구성해내는 사고 과정이 발생되는 것을 관찰할 수 있었다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study was to offer improved teaching method for mathematical problem posing through analyzing the recognition of teachers on mathematical problem posing and the content of mathematical problem posing presented in the current elementary mathematics textbooks. The procedures of this research were as followings. First, all the existing elementary first to sixth-grade math textbooks were analyzed to find out the content of the problem-posing segments, the number of relevant units, the distribution of problem posing in different domains and the types of problem posing. Second, after questionnaires were prepared to check the perception of elementary teachers about problem-posing activities, a survey was conducted. The analyzable answer sheets from 112 respondents were analyzed to grasp their awareness of problem posing, the state of guidance, the level of learner comprehension, and their opinions on how to teach problem posing. Then several plans were laid out to improve problem-posing education based on the results of the analysis of the math textbooks, the output of the survey and relevant theories: problem completing, making up problems by utilizing mathematical non-conditioned pictures, constructing problems by using several pieces of information, and constructing problems by topping off each unit. The subjects in this study were 30 fourth -grade students in K elementary school in Seoul. After the above plans are carried out, the following conclusions were given:First, math textbooks should deal with problem posing in a more systematic manner in accordance with the original intent of that education. Second, teachers should get the right understanding of problem-posing activities, and they should be given a wide variety of relevant materials and information on how to teach. Third, problem -constructing activities were suggested in this study as a way to offer better education about problem posing. As a result of having students engaged in those activities, they came up with diverse mathematical elements in the course of problem posing and to create a significant mathematical relationship among the elements.
