COVID-19으로 시작된 초등학교 원격교육의 부실함의 원인에 대해 체계적이고 깊이 있는 고찰을하기 위해 본 연구에서는 질적연구 방법을 이용하여 초등학교 원격교육이 부실한 근본적인 이유를 찾고자 하였다. 또한 초등교사들이 원격수업의 질을 높이기 위해 들이는 노력이 무엇인지와 그 노력의특성이 어떠한지 살펴보았다. 이를 위해 질적연구 방법 중 근거이론적 접근을 택하였으며 11명의 초등교사의 경험을 연구한 데이터를 바탕으로 어떠한 요인들이 원격교육에 영향을 미치는지 분석하고 노력특성에 따른 차이점을 추출해냈다. 연구 결과 초등원격수업의 질을 저하시키는 요인은 단순히 교사에만 있지 않았으며 사회, 정책, 심리, 가정 요인 등 복잡한 사회적 시스템이 얽혀있는 것으로 나타났다. 원격수업을 잘 하기 위한 교사의 노력특성은 순응형, 조용한 체인지메이커형, 그리고 강한 체인지메이커형으로 나누어짐을 알 수 있었다.
Abstract
In this study, the researcher explored the reason for the low quality of distance learning in theCOVID-19 era in elementary schools. The efforts and types of efforts were also analyzed. Theresearcher used grounded theory approach often used in qualitative research methods to understanda new phenomenon and induce a simplified theory from the phenomenon. Eleven elementaryteachers particiated in the study. From interview data, 41 primary factors in six areas were identified. These merged into three high-level factors. As for the effort types of teachers, 24 factors wereidentified which were grouped into three types of effort characteristics. It was revealed in thisresearch that the teachers did not bare the sole responsibility for low quality distance education butrather the problem existed in a complex social system. The three types of efforts characterizedteachers into either obedient type, quiet changemaker type, and strong changemaker type.
