일제 암흑기 황순원의 창작 단편소설 연구

본 논문의 목적은 일제 암흑기 황순원 소설의 특징을 살피는 것이다. 이를 위해 본 논문에서는 한국 전쟁이 한창이던 1951년에 발간된 소설작품집 『기러기』에 수록된 황순원의 일제 암흑기에 창작된 15편의 단편 소설의 특징을 살펴보았다. 그 결과 일제 암흑기에 고향에서 창작된 황순원의 단편 소설에서는 그 등장인물의 특징에 따라 (1)노인, (2)소년 소녀와 같은 어린 아이, (3)여성과 젊은이로 나눌 수 있었고, 노인을 주인공으로 하는 작품에서는 인생의 황혼에 대한 삶의 애환을 서정적으로 형상화하고 있었고, 어린 아이를 주인공으로 하는 작품에서는 미성숙한 등장인물의 특징을 순수와 미성숙의 문제로 그려내고 있었다. 그리고 여성을 주인공으로 하는 작품에서는 비참한 삶의 여정을, 젊은이를 주인공으로 하는 작품에서는 일제 말기의 쓸쓸함을 그려내고 있었다. 이러한 특징을 가진 이 작품집 『기러기』에서 황순원이 그려내고 있는 것은 일제 말기의 암울한 분위기 속에서의 전통을 기반으로 서정적 특징이라고 할 수 있었다.
Abstract
The Purpose of this study is to survey the characteristics of the Short-stories of “Hwang Sun-won” at the period of the last Japanese Imperialism. In the Korean War Hwang Sun-won published the book of the short-stories 『Ki-Reo-Gi(기러기)』. In this book he compiled the fifteen work of short-stories. They were created at the period of the last Japanese Imperialism in Korea. The main characters of the short-stories work 『Ki-Reo-Gi(기러기)』 are classified three types: (1) the old men, (2) the boys and girls, (3) the women or the young men. The short-stories whose main character is the old man showed the twilight of life and the hardship of the daily life. The short-stories whose main character is the boys and the girls revealed the innocence and the immaturity. The short-stories whose main characters are the women displayed the miserable life, the short-stories whose main characters are the young men demonstrated the weariness of the daily life at the last Japanese colonial imperialism. So in the short-stories work 『Ki-Reo-Gi(기러기)』 the author Hwang-Sunwon showed the traditionality and the lyricism at that period.
