陶隱 李崇仁의 역사의식

Abstract

This thesis aims to take a view macroscopically on ideological footprints of Yi Sung-In(李崇仁, 1347~1392) as a true Confucianist with both theory and practice and to examine meanings of his philosophical thoughts today by shedding new light on historical awareness of Yi Sung-In who lived a tough life in late Goryeo. The world of Yi Sung-In's study is seen with systematic learning of scriptures and an attitude of considering respect (敬) as important as a result of cultivating sages' spirits for seeking of truth (求道精神) based on fundamental Confucian texts. To sum up, Yi Sung-In's historical awareness which was identified from his attitude of reaction to rapidly changing situations in late Goryeo was not only of dying only after keeping his fidelity for Goryeo Dynasty but of manifesting his fidelity spirit on a basis of Confucian morality and benevolence and righteousness (道德仁義). Yi Sung-In's perception on reality and confrontational method to history clearly present that there undoubtedly are spiritual values other than capital or material to us in modern society.
