본 연구는 서양 심리학의 대표적인 성격 분석 도구인 교류분석(Transactional Analysis, TA) 이론과, 동양 철학에 뿌리를 둔 전통적인 인간 이해 방식인 명리학 사이의 연관성을 과학적이고 실증적인 방법으로 밝히고자 한다. 통계적 분석을 통해 명리학의 신뢰도와 타당성을 객관적으로 높이는 데 중요한 목적을 둔다. 이를 위해, 2024년 8월부터 2025년 3월까지 00평생교육원의 사회복지실습생 중 고졸 이상 성인 남녀 178명을 연구 대상으로 선정하여, 개인의 동의하에 그들의 사주명리 정보(출생년월일시)를 수집했다. 본 연구는 교류분석 유형과 일간 간의 관계를 다각적으로 분석하여 빈도 분석, 집중도 분석, 그리고 대응일치분석을 통해 각 교류분석 유형별로 선호하거나 강하게 연결되는 특정 일간이 존재함을 밝혀냈다. 갑목(甲木)처럼 강한 에너지를 지닌 일간은 특정 성향의 유형과 강하게 결합하는 반면, 癸 일간처럼 유연한 성질은 다양한 유형에 걸쳐 나타나며 우유부단함이라는 특징을 반영하는 것으로 나타났다. 이러한 분석결과는 개인의 성격 이해에 있어 교류분석 유형과 더불어 일간 분석이 갖는 의미를 더욱 깊게 한다. 이는 교류분석 유형과 일간이라는 두 가지 심리적 틀이 서로 영향을 주고받으며 개인의 성격적 특성을 형성하는 데 중요한 역할을 한다는 점을 시사한다.
Abstract
This study aims to empirically investigate the relationship between Transactional Analysis (TA), a Western psychological theory used for analyzing individual personality traits and behavioral patterns, and Myeongri, rooted in Eastern philosophy. Furthermore, it seeks to enhance the reliability and validity of Myeongri through statistical analysis. To explore the largely unexamined interrelation between TA and Myeongri, the researcher selected 178 adult men and women with at least a high school education from social welfare interns at 00 Lifelong Education Center as the study participants, spanning from August 2024 to March 2025. Their Saju Myeongri information was collected with their informed consent. The research methodology proceeds as follows: First, the Saju of the 178 participants is analyzed based on their birth year, month, day, and time. The results from the Egogram scale (5-point scale), which measures the core concept of ego states (Parent, Adult, Child) in Transactional Analysis, are utilized to understand the psychological characteristics of each individual. Second, the analysis results of each individual's Saju Myeongjo are refined and quantified, focusing on the characteristics of the Day Master, and statistically processed using SPSS version 26. To ensure anonymity, personal identifying information is excluded, and only the pure astrological chart data is used for analysis. Third, the 178 participants who received Saju counseling are classified into six representative personality types based on Transactional Analysis theory, and the frequency of each type is quantified and statistically analyzed. Fourth, frequency analysis and paired samples analysis are conducted based on the collected analysis results of the Saju Myeongri Day Master and the Transactional Analysis type classifications to identify statistical correlations between the two disciplines. The results are presented in percentages for ease of understanding for the study participants. By comparatively analyzing Transactional Analysis, a Western psychological tool, and Myeongri, an Eastern traditional method of understanding human nature, this study anticipates contributing to a deeper comprehension of human personality and behavior, and further, to securing the objective validity of Myeongri.
