초록

This paper investigated how native Japanese speakers who are learning Korean recognize Katakana notation with phonological changes in Korean. As for the method, we conducted an experiment in which Japanese speakers who had a history of learning Korean and who corresponded to the advanced level were presented with Hangul and then written in katakana. Through this experiment, when writing Korean in katakana, we investigated to what extent the phonological changes due to the final consonant, which are rarely found in Japanese, are reflected in katakana notation. The following facts were confirmed from the results of the experiment. When the final consonant "ㄱ" was followed by a consonant, the "closed syllable + open syllable" notation appeared most frequently at 47.75%. Next, the "open syllable + open syllable" notation was 31.55%. When a consonant follows the final consonant "ㅂ", the "open syllable + open syllable" notation was 50.55%, accounting for the majority and appearing most. Next, the notation of "closed syllable + open syllable" was 40.53%. When the consonant "ㄹ" follows the final consonant, the most common notation is "closed syllable + open syllable", accounting for 65.02%. And the notation of "open syllable + open syllable" continued at 32.16%. When the consonant "ㅎ" follows the final consonant, the "single syllable" notation was the most common, showing 52.96%, which exceeded the majority. Next, the "closed syllable + open syllable" notation accounted for 23.38%.
