This study, as a supplement to existing research, first examined not only the historical facts of the names of “Panda” and “Xionmao,” but also the reason why the distortion of the fact and Chinese desires intersect. In fact, the efforts too find the evidence, proving that most of the names had created by Western influences originated from China, was nothing more than an obsession to acquire ‘the hegemony of naming’. Furthermore, this research pointed out that academic information produced by China a lot differ from information open to the public and confirmed that the reason why this difference did not get narrowed was due to China's desire that persistently pursues nationalism and Sino-centrism on giant pandas. Finally, even this Chinese desire pointed out that the initial appearance of pandas was suspected of copying and amplifying Western desires.
Abstract
