「삼선기」에 나타난 정체성 찾기 과정

Abstract

The purpose of this study is to discover that 『Samseongi』(삼선기) takes the process of finding the identity. This work revealed changed aspects in the developing events as the process of finding out identity. The hero seeks ways to find his identity according to the changed places and as the result he experiences the change in the sense of values. His attitude of settling into a routine life of reality at home inevitably leads to the change with new sense of value in the local society. In the process of finding the identity the change of social range or the dimension takes the role as the necessary element to find his identity. It takes the important role in activating the development of the work as the hero comes to find his identity through lots of level. The hero and heroin take different ways in finding identity. Lee chun-pung(이춘풍), the hero, takes the start from unestablished level towards the established one little by little. It is the reason why he takes the leading role in finding identity. As the outer situation changes the hero takes the step to verify the inner elements with establishing himself. On the other hand, the heroin takes the order to verify inner identify as the work develops that was already established by herself. In the level where the inner identity was already confirmed a person exists as a fixed one as much not to experience any conflict nor confuse by the changed outer situation so there seems no necessity to experience change nor growth. Regarding the novel in this view, it belongs to bildungsroman. It seems meaningful to understand the social condition where the bildungsroman could take place and the works resulting from that in the sense it offers a way to approach the core of the work. Finding the identity takes the role of foundation axis to lead the composition of this novel. In the work, the characters and the world have been set to establish proper relationship for the identity. The characters have the meaning in the view of seeking identity in the social level as well as in the personal level. In this sense, this work takes much significance to offer a kind of chance for the personal identity,in the inner level, to reflect its role at the contact place where the person and society meet.
