체육영재 판별 도구 개발에 대한 교사들의 인식

본 연구의 목적은 체육영재 판별 도구 개발에 대한 교사들의 인식을 알아보고, 이를 통해 일선학교 현장에서 손쉽게 사용할 수 있는 판별 도구 개발에 대한 시사점을 제공하는데 있다. 이를 위해 K도 체육 영재교육 직무연수에 참가한 초․중등교사 30명(남 28, 여 2)을 대상으로 ‘체육영재란?’, ‘체육영재가 갖추어야 할 경기력이란?’, ‘체육영재의 판별 조건은?’이란 주제로 워크숍을 실시하였다. 여기에서 나타난 연구 결과는 다음과 같다. 먼저 체육영재에 대한 개념의 주요인은 지능, 신체적 조건, 스타(플레이어), 환경, 지도자 등이고, 체육영재에 대한 개념에서 특이한 점은 인성 요인을 중요하게 인식하였다. 둘째, 체육영재가 갖추어야 할 경기력의 주요인은 신체적 요인, 심리적 요인, 환경적 요인, 지능 등이고, 체육영재가 갖추어야 할 경기력에서 특이한 점은 지능 요인 분리와 환경적 요인에 대한고려였다. 셋째, 체육영재의 판별 조건에 대한 주요인은 지능, 심리, 관찰, 인성, 움직임, 체력, 체격, 예술, 적응력 등이다. 이상의 연구 결과를 바탕으로 얻은 시사점은 현재의 체육영재 판별 방법이 주로 신체적 조건과스포츠 수행 능력(경기력) 중심의 편향적인 방법으로 진행되어 온 것에 대한 재논의가 요구되며,일선학교 현장에서 손쉽게 사용할 수 있는 다양한 판별도구에 대한 지속적인 연구 및 개발이 필요하다. 또한 보다 광범위한 지역 및 학교급별 연구 대상과 장기간의 워크숍을 통한 체육영재 판별도구 개발에 대한 심도 있는 의견 수렴 및 협의 과정이 요구된다.
Abstract
The purpose of this study is to provide implications for developing tools to identify physically gifted students as well as to examine PE teachers' perceptions about the identification tools. A study was conducted on 30 (male 28, female 2) elementary and secondary PE teachers who participated in a K province training program entitled, Who is a physically gifted student?, What kinds of athletic abilities do physically gifted students possess? and What are the conditions for identifying physically gifted students? The results presented in this study are as follows: First, the main factors for identifying a physically gifted student is intelligence, physical fitness, having being a star player, environment, and trainer. Furthermore, personality factors were also considered to be important; Second, the main factors of athletic performance which physically gifted students must possess are physical factors, psychological factors,environmental factors, and intelligence. Interestingly, PE teachers considered intelligence factors as a separate issue while environmental factors were thought to have significant influence;Third, intelligence, psychology, observation, personality, movement, fitness, physique, art, and adaptability are the main factors in identifying physically gifted students. Based on the above results, developing effective tools for identifying physically gifted students should be considered as an alternative to current perspectives which mostly focus on physical conditions and athletic performance. Finally, consistent development of various identification tools which can be easily used in the school fields are necessary.
