Abstract

The purpose of this study was to construct sports talent identification models. For this purpose, the process for developing general talent identification models was reviewed and basic and specific sports talent identification models that are constructed with theoretical factor model and statistical evaluation model were designed. The basic sports talent identification model has a function for diagnosis of general sports performance ability and identification of optimal sports event. This theoretical factor model is constructed with common factors like as height, weight, body composition, arm strength, arm power, body strength, leg strength, leg power, aerobic ability, speed, agility, and flexibility that need to perform the most sports through inductive classification method on references to be connected with items to select athletes and expert seminars The specific sports talent identification model has the function for diagnosis of event specific ability for young people who have the best general sports ability. These theoretical factor models are constructed with specific factors like as physique, fitness, physiological characteristics that need to perform each sports event and also included with medical tests, a maturity test, psychological and sociological tests in common through inductive classification method on references to be connected with items to select athletes and expert seminars. And the evaluation model for sports talent identification was constructed by applying standard distance analysis using T-scores.
