Abstract

This paper is the first basic study for a analysis of the process of modernization of literature with economic view. To understand the process of modernization of literature we need to study the economic field of literature, literary marketplace. But there is still no macroscopic study of literary marketplace. By the way a indicator of the macroscopic changing literary marketplace is the trend of the amount of genre literary text in circulation. The trend is a result of competition among publishing organizations such as newspaper company, magazine publishing company, publishing company and bookstore. The Publishing organizations functioned as a exchange apparatus that put literary text into circulation in the literary marketplace. Therefore, If we will examine the aspect of genre literary text in circulation by the exchange apparatus after we select representative exchange apparatus regarding term of existence, public influence, amount of literary text in circulation, and so on, we are able to figure out the macroscopic changing literary marketplace. To do this, I examined the publication activity of the Mai-il Shinbosa first.
