연구목적: 이 연구의 목적은 동아시아국가들의 무역원활화가 수출에 미치는 영향을 분석함으로써 향후 우리나라와 동아시아국가 간의 무역을 증진시키기 위한 방안을 모색하는데 도움을 주고자 한다. 논문구성/논리: 본 논문은 한국, 일본, 중국을 포함한 동아시아의 11개국과 이 국가와 교역하는 123개국을 선정하여 2005년부터 2013년까지 9년을 3개년으로 구분하고, 각 기간에 대해 변수들을 평균하여 panel data를 만들었다. 이 자료를 이용하여 일반적인 고정효과모형을 최소자승더미변수(Least Square Dummy Variables)에 의해 추정하였고, 다음으로 양 국가간 무역량이 0일 때 사전에 제외되는 경우 발생하는 selection bias를 해결하기 위해 PPML(poisson Pseudo Maximum Likilehood)을 이용하여 추정하였다. 본 논문의 구성은 제1장 서론에 이어 제2장에서는 무역원활화에 대해 고찰하였다. 제3장에서는 연구모형 및 자료에 대해 분석하였다. 제4장은 실증분석, 제5장은 결론이다. 결과: 본 논문의 추정결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 2005년과 2013년 사이 동아시아국가들의 무역원활화수준은 한국‧일본‧싱가포르는 세계 상위그룹에 속하였으며 인도네시아, 말레이시아 국가들은 빠르게 개선되고 있다. 캄보디아는 가장 낮은 수준을 보였다. 둘째, 동아시아국가의 무역량의 비중이 9년 동안 지속적으로 증가하고 있다. 그리고 역내 교역규모도 2배 이상 증가하고 있다. 셋째, 대체적으로 최종재(final goods)의 수출은 hard infrastructure인 물적 인프라(Physical Infrastructure: PI), ICT에 영향이 큰 것으로 나타났고, 중간재와 원료의 수출은 soft infrastructure인 국경운송의 효율성(Border and Transport Efficiency: BTE)과 사업환경(Business Environment: BE)의 영향이 크게 나타났다. 독창성/가치: 본 논문은 WTO를 중심으로 무역원활화에 대한 관심이 더욱 높아지고 있는 가운데 동아시아국가 간 교역을 최종재, 중간재, 원료로 분류하여 무역원활화가 수출성과에 미치는 영향을 분석하였다. 그리고 FTA체결이 수출성과에 미치는 영향을 살펴보았다는데 의의가 있다.
Abstract
Purpose: This study aims to seek promoting ways to trade facilitation among the East Asian countries by analyzing the impact on the export. Composition/Logic: After selecting 11 countries(including Korea, China and Japan) and their trading countries, the panel data was made by the means of variables for the 9 years(2005-2013) separated by 3 years. The fixed effects model was estimated as the least square dummy variables by using this data. Then the PPML(Poisson Pseudo Maximum Likelihood) were used to solve selection bias when the trade volume of the two countries is zero. This paper presents the introduction in chapter 1 and a review on the trade facilitation in chapter 2. It analyzes the research model and its data in chapter 3. Chapter 4 is for the empirical analysis and chapter 5 is for the conclusion. Findings: The results of the study are listed below. First, the trade facilitation level of Korea, Japan and Singapore(2008-2013) was in the world top group. However that of Indonesia and Malaysia is being rapidly improved. Cambodia showed the lowest level. Second, the trade share of East Asian countries had been increased for the 9 years. And the volume of regional trade has been more than doubled. Third, the exports of final goods are greatly affected by the physical infrastructure(PI) and ICT. The exports of intermediate goods and raw materials are influenced by the soft infrastructure of border and transport efficiency(BTE) and business environment(BE). Originality/Value: This paper classifies the trade among the East Asian Countries as final goods, international goods and raw materials in the current situation in which the interest in trade facilitation are being increased mainly by WTO. It also analyzes the impact of trade facilitation on export performance. And its significance is in the fact that it looked over the impact of FTA on export performance.
