연구목적: 본 연구는 기존 관련 문헌에 기초하여 기업의 IT 거버넌스 관리를 IT 벤더관리, IT 인적자원관리, IT 인프라관리로 분류한 후 이 세 변수들이 기업 성과에 대하여 정(+)의 영향을 미치는지를 검증하는 것을 1차 목표로 하였다. 나아가 이러한 세 가지 IT 거버넌스 요인들이 성과 개선에 대하여 서로 선행적 관계 혹은 매개적 관계를 갖는지를 검토하는 것을 2차 목표로 하였다. 논문구성/논리: 각 변수의 타당성과 신뢰성을 확인 한 후, 먼저 IT 거버넌스의 세 가지 변수를 독립변수로 그리고 기업 성과를 종속변수로 하여 분석을 실행하였다. 다수의 수정 시도를 거친 후, 최초 모형 대신 IT 벤더관리와 IT 인적자원관리를 선행변수로, IT 인프라관리를 매개변수로, 기업 성과를 종속변수로 설정한 모형을 구조방정식 모형으로 분석하였다. 결과: 최초 모형에서 IT거버넌스의 세 가지 변수는 기업 성과에 대하여 유의하지 않은 영향을 미치는 결과를 보였는데, 이것은 ‘IT의 생산성 역설’에 의한 설명이 가능하다. 수정된 모형에서는 IT 벤더관리와 IT 인적자원관리를 선행변수로, IT 인프라관리를 매개변수로, 기업 성과를 종속변수로 설정하였고 모두 유의한 결과를 보였다. 이러한 결과는 IT 벤더관리와 인적자원관리는 ‘기반’ 요소로서의 역할을 그리고 IT 인프라관리는 성과에 직접적 영향을 미치는 변수라는 설명이 가능하다. 독창성/가치: IT 거버넌스를 구성 요인을 분류하여 그들이 성과 향상을 위해 어떠한 선행 및 매개 관계를 갖고 있는지를 탐색한 점, IT 거버넌스 요인들과 성과 개선 간에서는 생산성 역설의 논리가 적용됨을 발견한 점, 단기적 성과 향상이 필요한 기업은 세 가지 IT 거버넌스 요인 중 IT 인프라관리에 노력과 투자를 집중해야 한다는 결과를 제시한 점을 들 수 있다.
Abstract
Purpose: We classified IT governance into three factors of IT vendor management(ITVM), ITHRM and IT infra management(ITIM) and tried to verify if these factors affect positively on corporate performance. Further, we planned to check whether there are some preceding or mediating relationships among three factors to improve performance more. Composition/Logic: After checking validity and reliability of there factors, we practiced structural equation model which set three factors as independent variable and corporate performance variable as dependent one. To improve fitness of model to survey results, we tried to modify the first model into one which set ITVM and ITHRM as preceding variables and ITIM as mediating variable. Findings: In the first model, three factors showed insignificant positive effect on corporate performance, which can be explained by ‘productivity paradox of IT.’ However, in the modified model, all three factors affect significantly on corporate performance because ITVM and ITHRM function as ‘foundation factors’ and ITIM as directly affecting factor for performance improvement. Originality/Value: In order to improve corporate performance, we classified IT governance factors into three categories and attempted to determine what kind of relationships those three factors have. We found that productivity paradox is applied to the relationship between IT governance factors and performance and offer companies a practical implication that they have to foucs on investment and effort in IT infra management factors to have performance improvement in shorter time span.
