북한 '조선력사'교과서에 나타난 '신라'관련 내용분석

오늘날 한반도의 정세는 북한 핵문제의 타결을 위한 6자회담, 남북정상회담의성사, 남북경제협력(개성공단과 금강산 사업)의 확대, 남북이산가족 상봉의 정례화 등으로과거 어느 때보다 평화와 통일을 위한 분위기가 성숙되고 있다. 이러한 때에 상호 체제와 이념을 달리하고 있는 북한의 역사교과서를 분석하고, 남북의 역사학계에서 쟁점이 될 수 있는 부분에 대하여 문제제기를 한다는 것은 매우 의미 있는 일이라 사료된다. 특히 ‘신라의 삼국통일’에 대해서는 아직도 국내 학계뿐만 아니라 북한이나 외국의 학계에서까지 상이한 견해를 보이고 있다. 본고에서는 북한의 『조선력사』 교과서에 나타난 ‘신라’관련 내용을 분석하면서, 이렇게 쟁점이 되고 있는 역사적 사실, 즉, 신라의 삼국통일에대하여 북한과 남한 역사교과서는 어떻게 서술하고 있는가를 비교하여, 앞으로 어떤 내용들이 수정, 또는 보완되어야 하는가를 제시하였다. 한국의 고대사에 대하여 서술하고 있는 북한의 『조선력사』 교과서(고등중학교용, 1, 3권) 의 분석 결과는 다음과 같다. 첫째, 북한 역사교과서는 철저하게 마르크스의 변증법적 유물론에 입각한 역사발전 법칙에 따라 체제와 내용이 정해진다는 점이다. 둘째, 모든 장, 절의시작이 김일성과 김정일의 교시에서부터 시작되며, 셋째, 교과서에서 고구려사가 차지하는비중이 백제와 신라에 비해 매우 높아 내용적으로 불균형을 이루고 있다. 넷째, 북한 역사교과서의 신라관련 서술, 특히 삼국의 통일과정에서의 백재와 고구려의 멸망, 나당전쟁에 대해서는 본문에서와 같이 대단히 비판적인 견해를 견지하고 있다. 이는 북한 역사학계의 입장을 일정정도 반영하고 있기 때문이기도 하지만, 앞으로 남북한의 역사학자, 역사교육자, 교과서 집필자들이 함께 만나 머리를 맞대고 논의해야 할 과제이기도 하다. 아울러 남한 역사교과서에 서술되어 있는 ‘신라의 삼국통일’에 대한 서술 역시 문제점을내포하고 있다. 우리는 자신의 역사를 미화하지 말고, 과거에 있었던 사실 그대로를 교과서에 서술하고 가르쳐야 한다. 일본의 역사왜곡과 중국의 동북동정에 대처하기에 앞서 우리는얼마나 우리의 역사를 제대로 후세들에게 가르치고 있는가 하는 반성이 선행되어야 한다는것이다.
Abstract
Nowadays, situations for peace and unification in the korean peninsula approach to the age of puberty, for example, a summit meeting and economical cooperations between South and North Korea, pursuit for solution of nuclear weapon in North Korea, etc. In this situation, it is very meaningful for academical cooperation and issues of historians to analyse history Textbooks of North Korea. Particularly, South and North korean historian have a different opinion about ‘unification of ancient three nations by Silla-Dynasty.’ In this Study, I inquired into analysis of 『Chosun-Ryuksa 1, 3』, north korean history textbooks, and investigated and compared how the same thema, ‘unification of three nations,’ is describes in south korean history textbooks. The result of analysis in this subject is following. First, the contents and structure of north korean history textbooks are influenced by dialectical materialism. Second, The Contents of history textbooks in North Korea are out of balance, because history of ‘Goguryeo(高句麗)’ is treated more important than history of Silla(新羅) and Bakje(百濟). Third, history textbooks of North Korea have a critical opinion about ‘unification of three nations by Silla,’ because Silla attained national unification through military alliance with Tang-Dynasty(唐王朝). The other side, south korean history textbooks have a same problem about description of ‘unification of three nations,’ in which descriptions of the meaning of unification in the period of ancient Korea particularly inaccurate and dishonest. Before we criticize ‘Northeast Project’ in China and 'a strained interpretation about past' in Japan, we must reconsider how korean history is treated for our next generation.
