초록
This paper is concerned with the role of the lexical idiosyncratic features of both the reflexive pronoun caki and the inherently reflexive predicate in Korean anaphora. In particular, it will be seen in this study that the semantic content of caki is associated with the "reified" self in the sense of Safir (1996). It is also observed that the idiosyncratic properties in the lexicon of the body part predicates in Korean, such as inalienability, create a peculiar context in which the reflexive is disallowed while a Near-reflexive interpretation can be made even when no semantic reflexivity is involved in the predicate. It is argued that the extremely limited view of the reflexive pronoun in previous studies certainly cannot capture the overall picture of Korean anaphora.
