초록
In Moraic Theory, it is generally assumed that geminates are underlyingly specified for a mora, so that a CVC syllable should always count as heavy if the coda consonant is part of an underlying geminate, even in languages where a CVC syllable count as light otherwise. Based on the reanalysis of li-irregular verbs and other geminates derived by assimilation, I show that this assumtion is simply not tenable.
