초록
This study aims to build a learners spoken English corpus via a multimedia-assisted English speaking assessment and further suggest meaningful applications for the language learners and teachers. 270 college students took a multimedia-assisted English speaking test. Then, they were guided to download and transcribe their speaking files by themselves. After collecting students’ transcription files, the researcher built a learners spoken corpus and analyzed it using AntConc 3.4 and AntwordProfiler 1.4. The result of the analysis shows that learners spoken corpus tends to have more basic grammar errors compared with their written corpus due to the difference between students’ speaking and writing performances. Another interesting feature of the learners spoken corpus is that it well represents whether the students can produce what they have practiced during the class. This study suggests that learner spoken English corpora could be built by the collaboration of students and teachers, and even a small scale learners spoken corpus could be a meaningful tool for students’ further practice.
