본 연구는 만주어 문어 자료에 나타나는 복합 시제 형태 –HAbi, –HA bihe, –mbihe가 ‘V-Aspect+bi-Tense’로분석될 수 있음을 밝히는 것을 목적으로 한다. 범언어적으로 시제, 상, 서법은 동사 > 상 > 시제 > 서법 순으로 실현된다. 본 연구는 만주어가 속한 만주 – 퉁구스 언어들에서 나타나는 시제, 상, 서법 순서의 특성과 만주어 복합 시제 형태의 부정형에서 드러나는 특성을 종합적으로 검토하여 만주어 복합 시제 형태 –HAbi, –HA bihe, –mbihe가 각각 –HA+bi, –HA+bihe, –mbi+bihe로 분석할 수 있음을 주장하였다. 이것은 ‘V-Aspect+bi-Tense’와 같이 형식화할 수 있다. 만주 – 퉁구스 언어들에서는 존재 동사 bi–를 이용하여 ‘V-Aspect+bi-Tense’ 형식으로 시제와 상을 함께 표현하는 경우가 공통적으로 발견된다. 이 경우에 bi–의 앞에서 실현되는 어미는 상을 표현하고, bi–에 붙은 어미는 시제를표현한다. 이러한 문법 현상을 만주어에 대입하여 보면 –HAbi, –HA bihe, –mbihe가 만주 – 퉁구스 언어에서시제와 상이 우언적으로 표현되는 방식과 동일하게 각각 –HA+bi, –HA+bihe, –mbi+bihe로 분석될 수 있음을알 수 있다.
Abstract
This paper aims to present that Manchu compound tense forms –HAbi, –HA bihe, and –mbihe are analyzed as the form ‘V-Aspect+bi-Tense’. The cross-linguistic order of tense, aspect, and mood morphemes is Verb > Aspect > Tense > Mood. This study examines the order of tense, aspect, and mood in Manchu-Tungusic languages, and surveys the characteristics of the negative forms of Manchu compound tense. Based on the findings obtained from these processes, I argue that the Manchu compound tense forms –HAbi, –HA bihe, and –mbihe are analyzed as –HA+bi, –HA+bihe, and –mbi+bihe. This can be formalized as ‘V-Aspect+bi-Tense’. In Manchu-Tungusic languages, the existential verb bi- is used in the form of ‘V-Aspect+bi-Tense’. The verbal ending in front of bi- expresses the aspect, and the verbal ending attached to bi- expresses the tense. Applying these grammatical phenomena to Manchu, –HAbi, –HA bihe, and –mbihe are analyzed as –HA+bi, –HA+bihe, and –mbi+bihe.
