일본구전설화를 통해 본아마테라스 오미카미(天照大神) 신앙

『고사기』『일본서기』의 신화는 이후 각 시대의 문화･사회적, 정치적, 사상적 환경에 맞추어 변용되고 재생산되었다. 본고는 이러한 신화의 시대적 변화에 대한 논의를 염두에 두고, 근대 이후에 채록된 구전설화에 나타난 아마테라스 상(像)과 신앙을 고찰하였다. 필자가 고찰한 테마는 ‘인간 창조와 오니와의 싸움’ ‘부적(신찰)’ ‘정해진 운명’ 등인데, 가능한 한 구전설화 속의 아마테라스 관련 전승을 망라해서, 그것을 어떻게 분류할 것인가에 주안점을 두었고, 더불어 현재의 구전설화와 그 이전의 문헌설화의 영향관계에 대해서도 밝히고자 하였다. 각각의 제재 속에 드러난 아마테라스는 때로는 희화화되어 상대를 교묘하게 속이는 존재로 그려지는가 하면, 신호(神號)가 쓰인 부적으로 통해 ‘복을 주는 신’으로 신앙되기도 하고, 때로는 갓파와 같은 마물로서 등장하기도 하는 다양한 신앙적 층위를 보이고 있음을 확인할 수 있었다.
Abstract
Myths of 『kojiki』『nihonsyoki』 has been changed and reproduced according to the cultural, social, political and ideological environment of each age afterward. This study considered the discussion of chronological changes of these myths to research the image and faith of Amaterasu which have been appeared in oral stories narrated since modern times. The themes researched by the author include ‘Human creation and the battle with Oni’, ‘Amulet’, ‘Defined Destiny’, focused on how to classify by containing tradition related to Amaterasu in oral fables if possible, intended to clarify the relationship between the present oral narrative and previous tales of literature. It was found Amaterasu revealed in each theme showed various religious aspects, sometimes secularized, described to be the existence who cleverly deceive their opponent, believed to be ‘a god who blesses’ through the talisman in which the name of god is written.
