창원컨벤션센터에 대한 지역주민의 인식 연구

Convention center is a landmark facility which affects the local residents economically, socioculturally, and environmentally. Without the support and participation of local residents who influence each other directly and/or indirectly, a local convention center could not be constructed and operated successfully. Therefore, to be a successful and sustainable, it is important that a convention center reflects residents‘ ideas and gains their support. Five years after its construction, 499 Changwon city residents were surveyed about the economic, sociocultual, and environmental effects of the Changwon Convention Center(CECO). The result showed statistically significant high averages for social and cultural factors like 'improving the region image' and 'enhacing the level of cultural life', a significant differentiation between sex, age, and occupation in terms of economic effects, and satisfaction in terms of sciocultural and environmental effects.

Abstract
