The exhibition industry would face a variety of serious risks as it is composed of diverse sectors. Thus, crisis management is critical for successful exhibition. The purpose of this study is to investigate the types and causes of crisis occurred in operating exhibitions, and coping strategies, By using qualitative research based on grounded theory, this study conducted in-depth interviews with twelve experts as exhibition host. As a result, four main conditions related to causes and coping strategies were drew: causal, external, and mediating condition and coping strategies. Based on findings, the study suggested risk management model and practical implications. Lastly, the usefulness of the qualitative approach on the study of risk management was also suggested.
