조선시대 사가독서(賜暇讀書)와 ‘평생독서교육’ 연구

조선시대의 사가독서(賜暇讀書)는 그 교육적 의의에 있어 오늘날 평생교육의 이상과 맞닿아 있다. 세종대에 시작된 사가독서 제도는 교육과정의 고정된 틀에 매이지 않았고 운영 과정도 ‘자발성․즐거운 학습’을 바탕으로 한 자기주도학습(self-oriented learning)을 지향하였다. 하지만 사가독서는 시대 환경의 차이로 누구에게나 동등하게 공급되는 것을 이상으로 하는 평생교육의 공공성은 확보할 수 없었다. 이제 주5일 근무시대를 맞아 현대인은 독서에 필요한 3L(Literacy, Leisure, Libraries)의 환경을 갖추었고, 이를 활용해 평생교육 차원에서 독서할 수 있다. 정보사회를 이끌어가는 사람은 기존 지식과 정보를 많이 가진 사람이 아니라, 새로운 정보나 지식을 창출할 수 있는 사람이며, 정보사회의 경쟁력을 갖추는 가장 큰 기반은 바로 전통적인 독서력에 있다. 이제 기존 학교교육의 틀을 벗어나 ‘자발성’과 ‘즐거운 학습’에 중점을 두어, 누구나 편안하고도 평등하게 접근할 수 있는 평생독서교육이 이루어져야 한다. 이를 위해 공공도서관, 학교도서관, 기업이 주도적인 역할을 하고, 그 밖의 대학 평생교육원, 각종 문화센터, 시민사회의 자발적인 독서동아리와 사이버공간의 독서 모임도 독서교육의 주체가 되어야 한다. 평생독서교육은 사회구성주의 교육 이론을 바탕으로 독서동아리의 형태로 이루어질 때, 개인적 독서에서 벗어나 독서를 통해 의사소통 능력을 기르고, 지식기반사회가 요구하는 지적 경쟁력을 확보할 수 있다. 그리고 독서동아리의 운영 원리는 ‘자발성’과 ‘즐거운 학습’이란 평생교육의 이상을 존중하고 ‘실천성’과 ‘개방성’을 지켜나가야 한다.
Abstract
Education ideal of Sagadogseo(賜暇讀書) in Chosun Dynasty is linked with idea of lifelong education today. Sagadogseo (賜暇讀書) drawing that King Sejong makes was not tied down on fixed frame of course of study. Education operation process intended self-oriented learning that base on ‘Spontaneity․joyful studying’. However, Sagadogseo (賜暇讀書) was no public of lifelong education that do by idal that is supplied everybody equally by difference of environment age. All life of individual, because escape frame of existing school education in four corners of life and emphasize ‘Spontaneity’ and ‘Joyful studying’, reading education that can approach everybody comfortably and impartially must consist all life. Public library, school library, corporation act leading role for this, and reading session of cyber space must become subject of reading education with voluntary reading part of other college's lifelong education circle, various culture centers, civic society. All life reading education can foster communication ability through reading, and secure competitive power of knowledge that knowledge based society requires escaping in private reading when consist of form of reading part with social constructivism. And operation principle of reading part ‘Spontaneity’ and ‘Joyful studying’ ideal of lifelong education respect and must keep ‘Practice’ and ‘Openness’. Also, all life reading education must take charge function that can cure injury between reading club constituent each other not that is limited in sacred ground of culture and knowledge. Reading coach, reading specialist, teacher-librarian of present reading education are taking charge. Is guiding reading to all children or take charge reading education in school. Expectation level about reading education by adults' attainments in scholarship level is high. Therefore, in lifelong education period, lead reading part and reading educationist to conduce need to be trained. General observation of graduate course that train lifelong education reading specialist to take charge reading education is expected to examine. Realistic discussion is thought to become another practical groping that can overcome humanistic crisis when consider the recent situation that request of lifelong education increases rapidly in reply.
