Abstract
This study systematically analyzes research trends in the academic journal Children’s Literature and Translation Studies, covering 444 articles published from 2005 to 2024. As a key publication bridging fairy tale literature and translation studies, the journal has expanded its academic impact since its inception as a candidate journal in 2005 and accreditation in 2008. The analysis focuses on quantitative and qualitative changes across four phases, revealing significant insights into authorship, thematic scope, and keyword evolution. Quantitative analysis reveals a steady increase in published articles, averaging over ten per year since the journal’s accreditation. Authorship trends indicate a predominance of single-author studies (90.99%), with gradual growth in collaborative research. The majority of contributors are affiliated with domestic institutions, particularly Konkuk University, reflecting the journal's institutional ties. Qualitative findings reveal that 72.7% of articles focus on children’s literature, with translation studies addressing 6.1% and mixed studies at 3.0%. The journal’s primary subjects include fairy tales, picture books, and adolescent fiction, with emerging attention to digital media and socio-cultural themes such as healing and identity. This study highlights the journal’s academic contributions and identifies opportunities for diversification in research topics, interdisciplinary collaboration, and expanded engagement with international scholars. Future directions include exploring digital storytelling, multicultural translation, and the role of children’s literature in addressing global challenges.
